The
MMA Way™ Black Belt Path
Most students practice as hobbyists and or weekend warriors.
Some
students may be interested in advancement.
We award belts, certificates and scrolls as an honorable,
achievement-based system of recognition, based
solely upon Student Skills, Knowledge and Sensei Discretion. We focus on fostering authentic skill development and character
building through diligent practice, genuine effort and earned recognition.
We have high standards, but we
will never nickel and dime you with ridiculous numbers of belts,
stripes, tests and fees. Students are not guaranteed to pass
any belt test.
These days everyone wants instant gratification...
The MMA Way™ Black Belt Cumulate Leadership Path is NOT for
everyone.
True mastery and rank are earned through; dedicated training,
consistent self improvement,
loyalty to self and dojo, and humbly discovering capabilities and
limits while developing a
deep understanding of the MMA
Way.
If the MMA Way™
Black Belt Path resonates with you, then keep reading...
· The frustrations of being a Mixed Martial Artist.
· Delusions of grandeur - thinking one is invincible.
· The desire to avoid fundamentals, repetition and frequency.
· Distractions of flashy skateboard trick techniques that rarely
work.
· Being expected to be gentle with lower belts, while getting
submitted by both.
· The pressure to remember hundreds of techniques and apply in live
applications.
· Feeling burnout or injuries due to not having intensity awareness
and / or boundaries.
· In a "swipe-right" world, Blue Belt is where student loyalty and
humility is tested. Students with
Unrealistic Expectations and "Grass is Greener" Syndrome might feel
switching academies will magically solve their training challenges
or accelerate their learning, but this feeling can lead to
constantly seeking out new environments, even if underlying issues
are internal (EGO). If the student excels in competition, the
student may be enticed and lured away by competing schools offering
more "opportunities for advancement" (EGO). A toxic gym culture that
fosters ego and competition rather than connection and humility can
exacerbate these feelings. Feelings are not facts! "It" does not get
easier! Everyone else gets better too!
Expected to Help
Mentor and
Teach Lower Belts.
